Yeah, technically, it's not a spaceship. It's just, like, a ship. That doesn't go in space. Cause then the people on it would die... But still. Sweet Ship Movie You can click it and watch it. It's true! Here's a shot of the Duke 2.5 coming in for a landing for one of the later episodes of SBFP.

Looks very sweet, nicely detailed, better than the wretched spaceships in say, EPI. Greatly detailed, still noticing new details after watching it.
Wow. Just noticed reflections on it. Very impressive.
Did you motion capture/ use HDRI for this?

No way! Those Ep1 ships were HIGHLY epic!
Not really motion capture, but tracked the motion, yes, in Icarus. And not really HDRI... more like LDRI. Took a jpg with the horizon at halfway, with the ground dark and the sky bright, and used that as a global light.
Surprisingly, that's all the light I needed. Which was bizarre.

Well, they were techinically well done, I suppose, but stylisticly? I'm thinking of the Naboo ships in general - too sleek, to smooth, to perfect. I mean, come on - that's what Star Trek is for. Your ship, on the other hand, has a bunch of thingy's hanging off it, actual wheel landing gear (Star Wars ships always have claws - as if they can just land them wherever and never need to move on the ground) and basicly looks more beat up - like the Millenium Falcon, which I like more.

Honestly, I agree. The Naboo ships fit the storyline, I suppose, but I'm still not all the way used to them. I LOVE ships with landing gear, and things hanging off (why I built this one like it is)
One of the coolest things is that they actually BUILT the millenium falcon for the movie. Can you imagine that? Actually HAVING the ship to film in and around, instead of just having to imply it? Oh man.
I had a dream like that once. Where the ship we were using for the movie actually existed. They were like, "Hey Ian, come out back" and I did, and there was the ship!
Oh man. Good dream. Good dream.
Now I just dream about assembling cotts. Or breaking robots on accident.

Hehe.
I had a cool dream recently. Going on a motorcycle at something like 120 miles an hour. But that is the exception. Usually I just have strange dreams with me messing up something. I guess like you breaking robots.

Haha. Yeah? I felt bad about the robot. It played the 20th Century Fox theme.
it was odd.
